Who We Help · PRIMAL Vitality

Hormonal Imbalance

Hormones influence energy, mood, sleep, weight, libido and more. When something feels off, hormones are a reasonable question to ask, but they are rarely the whole answer.

Understanding the concern

Hormones and how you feel

In women, perimenopause and menopause bring shifting estrogen and progesterone that can affect sleep, mood, temperature, weight and intimacy. In men, testosterone gradually declines with age and can drop further with excess weight, poor sleep, stress or certain conditions. Thyroid function, insulin and cortisol also shape how you feel, in both sexes.

Many symptoms people attribute to hormones overlap with sleep problems, nutrition, stress, medications and other health conditions. That is why we look at the full picture before drawing conclusions.

Symptoms people often report

  • Low energy or afternoon crashes
  • Lower libido or sexual changes
  • Sleep disruption or night sweats
  • Mood changes, irritability or brain fog
  • Weight changes, especially around the middle
  • Irregular cycles or hot flashes
Evaluation

Individualized assessment

  • Current medications and supplements
  • Laboratory testing when appropriate, timed correctly
  • Coordination with your physician when medical care is needed

See a physician promptly if you notice very heavy or postmenopausal bleeding, rapid unexplained weight change, a racing heart or tremor, breast changes, severe depression, or symptoms that are getting worse quickly.

What to keep in mind

PRIMAL Vitality does not prescribe hormones or other medications. If hormone therapy or other medical treatment may be appropriate, we encourage you to discuss it with your physician, and we are happy to coordinate.

Symptoms alone cannot confirm a hormone problem. Testing, when used, needs to be interpreted alongside your symptoms and history.

FAQs

Common questions

Can I just get my hormones tested?

Testing can be useful, but results depend on timing and need to be interpreted alongside your symptoms. We will help you decide what makes sense.

Is low libido always hormonal?

No. Libido is affected by sleep, stress, relationship factors, medications and health conditions as well as hormones.

Do you offer hormone replacement?

PRIMAL Vitality does not prescribe hormone therapy. We focus on wellness support and coordinate with your physician when medical treatment is being considered.
